Hello again! En este boletín digital quería contarles como estuvimos trabajando con cada uno de los cursos en la materia inglés:

En primer año (upper level) comenzamos el año repasando todas las estructuras gramaticales y tiempos verbales. Luego, profundizamos en los contenidos previstos para este año. Los alumnos adquirieron vocabulario nuevo y practicaron situaciones de la vida real: el check-in de un aeropuerto y las palabras claves para viajar y poder manejarse solos en estas experiencias. También, realizaron un proyecto que consistió en armar una lámina y exponer en forma oral lo que hicieron en sus vacaciones. Leímos el primer cuento corto del año: “The Big Mistake” (Burnett-Stuat), lo trabajamos en profundidad y luego fueron evaluados de a pares oralmente. Durante el segundo trimestre, comenzaremos a leer el segundo cuento: “The Earthquake” de Elizabeth Laird y realizaremos una foto historia en base al mismo.

En segundo año (upper level) repasamos todas las estructuras vistas el año anterior y luego nos concentramos en los nuevos contenidos. Trabajamos con la canción de Adele “Hello” para profundizar el presente perfecto. También, leímos un cuento corto y trabajamos uno de los ejes transversales “consumo problemático de sustancia psicoactivas” conversando sobre la vida del cantante Bob Marley. En el segundo trimestre leeremos “The Canterville Ghost”, un clásico de Oscar Wilde.

En tercer año (lower level) comenzamos con producciones propias de los alumnos: escribieron biografías, cartas y también trabajamos la oralidad con situaciones de la vida cotidiana, por ejemplo pedir un medicamento en una farmacia o ir al doctor. Leímos el cuento “The Judge’s House” de Bram Stroker, una historia de terror que fue trabajada de manera oral y escrita.

En cuarto año (upper level) comenzamos el mes de abril conmemorando el aniversario de la muerte del dramaturgo y escritor William Shakespeare. Los alumnos trabajaron en un proyecto partiendo de contenidos previos, en el cual analizaron la vida y obra del autor y para finalizar realizaron unas láminas de manera grupal. Leímos el cuento americano “ The Heroine” de Patricia Highsmith y conversamos sobre la protagonista del cuento, Lucile, una joven que quiere ser una heroína, sin importar las consecuencias. En el mes de junio, comenzamos a trabajar las canciones, el vocabulario y los temas de la obra de teatro “Shrek The Musical”, que iremos a ver el 23 de junio, pero sobre esto les contaré en el próximo boletín digital.

En quinto año (upper level) trabajamos distintas áreas de vocabulario: el crimen, el cuerpo y las enfermedades y palabras que se confunden con facilidad en la lengua inglesa. Profundizamos en contenidos vistos en años anteriores y no faltaron las canciones y los debates. Leímos el cuento de misterio “The Lipstick” de Mary Roberts Rinehart y analizamos nuestras reacciones ante las distintas situaciones planteadas en él.
