Hello again!
Dear families,
Nos volvemos a encontrar en este espacio para compartir el desarrollo académico de sus hijos. Como ya todos sabrán, este año comenzamos a utilizar un nuevo libro de la serie Laser B1. Me alegra poder decir que el resultado que venimos teniendo es muy positivo. Los chicos responden muy bien a las actividades que se ofrecen en el student’s book, workbook y en el CD-ROM. Los libros están pensados para adolescentes, lo que hace que los alumnos se sientan identificados y motivados con el material de estudio.
Si bien venimos repasando estructuras ya vistas, algunas se fueron complejizando y se está ampliando el vocabulario de los alumnos en gran medida. Cada unidad cuenta con un “Dictionary Corner” en el que los alumnos aplican en contexto el vocabulario aprendido y terminan de entender su significado. Asimismo, los libros cuentan con tópicos que son de gran interés para los alumnos. Temas tales como historias de fantasmas (y su vocabulario), la ley (unidad en la que los alumnos crearon sus propias leyes, ¡muy disparatadas!), la fama y las celebridades (unidad en la que, especialmente las chicas, se encontraron con sus ídolos), entre otros.
Estoy haciendo hincapié en desarrollar la habilidad del habla, por lo que vamos a dedicar mucho tiempo en actividades de tipo oral. El role-play (actuación, representación) es una de estas actividades que realizamos, y que ya viene teniendo excelentes resultados ya que los alumnos se muestran muy entusiastas y trabajan con mucha dedicación.
Desde mi lugar, trabajo mucho para variar las actividades y hacer las tardes lo más dinámicas posibles. Poco a poco voy incorporando el uso de material auténtico, como por ejemplo videos cortos en los que hablan nativos del idioma inglés, canciones, artículos periodísticos, etc., para que los alumnos puedan aplicar lo aprendido y encuentren un sentido al aprendizaje de una lengua extranjera. Es muy importante exponer a los alumnos a situaciones del mundo real en el que el idioma que están aprendiendo toma vida.
En la etapa que sigue a las vacaciones de invierno vamos a seguir trabajando muy intensamente como hasta ahora. Gracias familias por el compromiso de sus hijos y por el acompañamiento que me brindan. Los saludo hasta el próximo boletín y ¡les deseo un buen receso escolar!
