Nos estamos preparando para realizar la visita al Teatro Colón de Buenos Aires. Una de las salas más importantes del mundo, destacada por su grandiosidad y por la claridad de su acústica. A lo largo de su historia grandes artistas argentinos e internacionales han revelado las más bellas formas del arte.
La Opera, es el género musical protagonista en la programación desde su creación a principios del siglo XX.
Comparable con las salas líricas más importantes del mundo, como la Scala de Milán, la Metropolitan Opera House de New York, la Ópera Estatal de Viena, la Royal Opera House (Covent Garden) de Londres y la Ópera de París, es índice inequívoco de consagración para quienes se presentan en él y lugar ineludible para los amantes de la música. El Colón ha sido desde siempre un teatro venerado por el público y por los artistas más renombrados. A su vez, es sede de la Orquesta Estable, el Coro Estable, el Ballet Estable del Teatro Colón y de la Orquesta Filarmónica de Buenos Aires. También funcionan en su sede el Centro de Experimentación del Teatro Colón, el Instituto Superior de Arte, con su Orquesta Académica, el Coro de Niños y el programa Colón Contemporáneo.
El Teatro Colón es un teatro de temporada o de stagione que renueva su programación anualmente; no es un teatro de repertorio. Asimismo tiene producción propia, que cuenta con talleres a cargo de personal especializado para realizar íntegramente todos los elementos necesarios para la escenificación de un espectáculo de ópera o ballet.
Entre 2001 y 2010, fue sometido a un profundo proceso de restauración conservativa y modernización tecnológica que le devolvió el brillo original de sus años de esplendor, sin alterar la acústica de su sala ni la arquitectura original de las partes nobles. Durante el período de restauración desarrolló sus actividades artísticas en salas alternativas de la ciudad de Buenos Aires. Fue reabierto el lunes 24 de mayo de 2010, como parte de los festejos del Bicentenario de la Argentina.
En la clase de música estamos aprendiendo la melodía de Habanera, de la Opera “Carmen” de George Bizet.
